Northern Lights Lounge - Aberdeen Airport

Sometimes we leave Scotland. This time it was to celebrate our 10 year anniversary in the city of love, Paris. What better way to start the long weekend than in the Northern Lights Lounge at Aberdeen Airport. Talk about a relaxed start to the holiday. First thing I noticed - it’s so quiet compared to the usual hustle and bustle of the airport. It felt like a luxurious start to the holiday instead of the usual harried, trying to find a seat and keep everyone entertained for a couple of hours experience. The priority pass includes complimentary food and drinks all with a local connection. They have a range of Brewdog beer available as well as delicacies from local suppliers including Aberdeen Angus burgers, Cambus o’May cheese and smoked haddock fishcakes from The Bay fish and chip shop in Stonehaven. Snacks included mackies crisps, olives and pretzels.

Our flight ended up being delayed for an hour but this was no hardship considering our surroundings and all that was on offer. If we have the opportunity to travel alone together again, we’ll definitely return.
