What I Tell Everyone Visiting the Isle of Canna for the First Time

Here's what I'd tell anyone heading to the beautiful Isle of Canna for the first time:
• Slow down : Let your senses adjust. Listen to the seabirds, breathe in the sea air, let the stillness settle into your bones.
• Explore with curiosity: It may be small but Canna has a wealth of wildlife, archeology and community spirit. Keep an eye out for puffins in summer, eagles soaring in the skies above and visit ancient sites such as the Celtic cross at Keil.
• Speak to the locals: They are the heart of the island. Whether ordering a superb seafood dish or cake at Cafe Canna, visiting Canna House or passing someone on a walk, say hello. You'll likely leave with a story, a smile and a deeper sense of place.
